CHANDIGARH: The Chandigarh Senior Citizen Association in collaboration with the state library organized a lecture on career counselling session for students of classes X and XII. Seven senior citizens, all engineers, who have experience of more than three decades, guided the children.
The aim of the session was to render service to students as well as parents, who have not been able to decide on the career path.
This session was only about engineering in particular. R A Sakuja, a former Air Force engineer, who delivered a lecture said, "We are aware of things that students need to know before entering a particular stream. We are just sharing our experience."
"I always wanted to join electrical engineering, but I didn't know much about the field. Now, after the counselling session, I am sure about the field," says Amisha Pathania, a student of Class X.
Ranbeer and Gunbeer, twins, wanted to go in for civil engineering, but had queries regarding the course. Gunbeer said, "The lecture has motivated me and has cleared almost all our doubts."
